FUNERALS - HOW I WORK
I begin by making an appointment to come to your home to meet with all those who wish to have input into the service - if it is possible, and as I recommend, you are planning the funeral before death, this meeting may hopefully also include your loved one, in which case we may meet at the hospice or similar.
Much of the time we spend together I will be asking questions about your loved one - about their life, about their personality, about any stories they/you would like told in the funeral. We discuss the overall structure of the service, including any appropriate special features they/you want included.
I offer you a package of possible funeral readings (although you are free to choose any readings/poetry for the funeral), and we consider also the inclusion of music in the ceremony. I assist those who wish to speak at the funeral in any way I can, and often suggest they give me a copy of what they wish to say. Then, if they are unable to speak during the service, I can do so for them.
On the day of the ceremony I take great care with my appearance, and with my presentation. Afterwards, I send you a beautiful copy of the funeral to keep.
Throughout this process, you experience my warmth, sensitivity, and professionalism, and my commitment to the highest quality in my work.
I charge at an hourly rate and typically find I spend 15 plus hours on most funerals.
