TUTORING - HOW I WORK
When you contact me about your child (emailing me is often the best way to make initial contact), I will begin by asking you to tell me about your child, what year she is in, her personality, how she is progressing in school in general, and in maths in particular. You may be able to tell me her recent results in class tests, or perhaps in a test like AsTTle.
If you would like to meet me first before engaging my services, you and your daughter are welcome to make an appointment (during the week) to come and meet me at my home. This meeting is obligation-free.
When tutoring your daughter, I will ask her to bring along her school maths books so I can see what she is currently being taught, and so I can talk with her about what specifically she does and does not understand.
I may ask you to purchase a workbook for your daughter to use in our sessions. These workbooks are inexpensive, generally available, and well-regarded. You child will use this workbook in most or all sessions with me, and it will provide an excellent resource for study and revision before any exams.
I am happy to see your child at my Onehunga home. Sessions are $95 for 90 minutes.
For those preferring that I see their child in their own home, I am happy to travel in the Auckland area and cost for a 90 minute session is $110 (if your home is within 30 minutes one way drive of mine).
All fees are payable either in advance via internet banking, or in cash on the day. I warmly welcome your enquiries!
